March Against Monsanto

Today is May 25th, 2013 and I will be participating in a March Against Monsanto in my hometown of Beaufort, SC. (Here are details of our particular March). I have been asked to speak about GMOs or genetically modified organisms to help educate the public about the dangers of GMOs and why it is so important that our food supply be correctly labeled if GMOS are present. I am honored and appreciative of the opportunity to discuss a subject I am so passionate about.

I encourage everyone, everywhere to learn more about GMOs so that individuals can make educated decisions and move past the propaganda. The consequences of GMOs and the inability to make informed food choices will have irreparable consequences.

Why is it considered unreasonable to ask that ingredients in our foods be identified on labels? Regardless of political persuasion, socioeconomic status, race, creed or color – this is a basic consumer rights issue. If you agree that we have a right to know what we are purchasing and ingesting, join the thousands of people in hundreds of cities on 6 continents today – May 25, 2013 to share your concerns as we March Against Monsanto.

Neurological Diseases Caused By Synthetic Pesticides

ADHD, Autism, Alzheimer’s, Depression, Learning Disabilities, etc. – these are all neurological problems of dis-ease. They are instances where the brain function is compromised. Why are these conditions more and more common? And why would Greenbug that offers safe, green and natural pest control products care about neurological disease?

Because of man-made, unnatural, synthetic pesticides. What are pesticides? They are odorless and colorless chemical toxins that are increasingly prevalent and almost impossible to avoid. Our entire food supply is marinated in pesticides throughout the entire growth process and used in excess during the post harvest, processing and packaging stages. Unless you grow your own food, you are consuming toxic, odorless, colorless man-made synthetic pesticides.

But that’s not all – every single public structure is bathed in unnatural pesticide chemicals to ensure we do not encounter a single pest. Schools, grocery stores, malls, business offices, hospitals, restaurants, sports arenas and our own homes have all been treated with toxic substances you cannot smell or see. It is impossible to avoid these chemicals.

So how do they cause disease? Simple – these neurotoxic poisons are engineered to affect the neurological systems of pests. The idea is chemicals that are strong enough to kill or compromise bugs but not affect humans. But it has proven an impossible option that has tragically backfired. Instead, the chemicals ARE affecting humans and these same pesticides are losing effectiveness with bugs.

Materials that are not natural cannot be metabolized by the human body – our bodies have no mechanism to deal with something that isn’t real. So synthetic pesticides in our bodies are like plastics in the landfill – they don’t decompose but remain and accumulate. They begin to infiltrate into the cellular level of our brains – and cause disease. They are intentionally geared to cause neurological damage and they do just that in humans – hence the increase in neurological health concerns.

Pesticide Resistance is the amazing scientific phenomenon that proves that pest populations given repeated exposure to a particular pesticide will become immune to the effects. Hmm… so the more we use these bug killers, the less effective they are therefore, the bugs are resistant. The only solution then is stronger more lethal poisons which means we are now exposed to more destructive chemicals to wreak havoc on our bodies.

What can we do? Use only natural pest control products like Greenbug and insist that any structure you have influence on use only natural products. Did I mention that Greenbug works? We have sold more than 15,000 products and never had one returned for lack of performance. The monstrous synthetic chemical manufacturers want you to make them richer by using their man-made concoctions but there is no need to use synthetic when natural works.

We can arrest the spread of neurological diseases by eliminating exposure to synthetic pesticides. Wouldn’t NOW be the best time to start? For all your pest control needs, visit Greenbug so you can safely and effectively eliminate pests.

What to Do When You Find Bed Bugs

You are afraid of bed bugs and would die if you got them. But what if you do get bed bugs? Learn what to look for and what to do when you find bed bugs.

Think back over the last several weeks – when did you first notice something? Perhaps a pattern began to emerge of mysterious, itchy red bumps.

Could it be? Sure you went on a business trip but you checked the bed in the hotel and there was no evidence and that was two weeks ago. You wake up and discover about 10 new bites and it just isn’t a coincidence any more. This time, you get a high powered flashlight and start a full out search and voila – you find a small, flat, reddish-brown bug that is about half the size of an apple seed. Gag!

So what do you do? First of all, don’t panic – the problem took a while to be created and it won’t go away immediately no matter how loud you yell or how many belongings you pitch out the door.

Step One – Try to figure out the source. This is important as it tells you how long you have had them, what else you own that may be infested, and how to approach treatment. If they are from your neighbor’s apartment or hitch hiked on your suitcase means a different approach to treatment.

Step Two – Go online and buy Greenbug for People. Greenbug offers a safe, effective product that kills bed bugs and their eggs. Do not call in an exterminator because they will use ineffective, synthetic poisons that will harm you and not kill the bugs. Greenbug is the ultimate solution to killing bed bugs!

Step Three – Wash all of your linens and belonging in the hottest water possible and dry on the hottest setting possible. Large items can be placed in contractor-sized garbage bags then sprayed with Greenbug for People and sealed tightly for at least 2 weeks. If these blood suckers came in on luggage or attached to a new couch, make sure you treat the source thoroughly with the product.

Step Four – The very best way to treat for bed bug is to use Greenbug for People applied through a commercial grade fogger. You can do this yourself and save a tremendous amount of money over hiring someone else to do it – plus it will be successful. You can buy or rent a fogger at www.greenbugallnatural.com.

Step Five – Do not throw things away! It is not necessary to get rid of items as you can safely treat them. Using Greenbug will salvage all your belongings so you can go back to normal.

What do you do if you get bed bugs? Get Greenbug, deal with it and you are done and back to normal!

How To Get Rid Of Ants – Learn The Best Treatment for Ants

How do you get rid of ants?

These irritating pests come in packs of thousands and will crawl over and through anything. It doesn’t matter how well you clean or how fastidious you are about removing food debris – ants in the home will drive you nuts!

We all know the hierarchy of ants and their self-imposed caste system. There is the Queen Ant who does nothing but stay inside all day long being groomed and birthing eggs. All ants are there to serve her and boy, do ants toil!

Some ants are given the task of taking care of ‘Her Majesty’ which entails bringing her food, keeping her clean, shuffling her eggs and even removing her excrement. Others are charged with tending the nest which means keeping it clean, rotating the eggs, and feeding the newborn ants. They also have the task of expanding the nest to accommodate the growing population.

Then there are the real workers and these are the ones that enter our homes in search of water and food to support this growing metropolis of ants. They are happy to sacrifice some of their own in the quest for sustenance and often go in single file with those in front being the most vulnerable to execution. If these line leaders face something unpleasant like a physical barrier or a toxic substance, they communicate with those behind to turn back. That is the key to getting rid of ants.

It is all about the barrier for an ant treatment.

A barrier can be physical – a window that now has weather stripping; the holes in the screen door that are now fixed; and the cracks in the foundation that were once an ant superhighway have all been caulked. These physical barriers are the first line of defense as the presence of ants will always mean a structure has entry holes. If you plug the holes, you stop the ant parade.

But if you cannot find the entry point(s) and still have these pests even after diligent effort, then it is time to bring in the toxic substance to create the barrier. In order to be effective and still green, use a substance that is toxic to ants but harmless to humans, animals and the environment. You need Greenbug!

Liberally spray the inside and outside of your home with Greenbug for Indoors or Greenbug for Outdoors concentrating on the areas you’ve witnessed ants either emerging or retreating. Treat those areas heavily and spray a wide swath about 4 feet left and right of the target to make sure the barrier is respected. Since Greenbug is so safe, you cannot overuse it and can apply on Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 and the results should be pronounced. If necessary, repeat about once a week for a while just to make sure they get the message. For more directions on treatments for ants, click here.

That is how you get rid of ants.

“Mosquito Diseases” – What Are They?

What are “The Mosquito Diseases”? It depends on who you ask. In the United States, the mosquito disease is West Nile Virus. If you live in Africa or Central America, mosquito diseases are Malaria and Dengue Fever.

All of these dangerous mosquito diseases are transmitted by feeding mosquitoes who must have a blood meal in order to reproduce. They ‘bite’ their victims but it really isn’t a bite at all as they suck blood through a straw-like mouthpiece. As they drain us of our blood, they inject an anti-coagulant to keep the blood flowing and that injected serum is what victims react to. Most people get a minor, irritating and itchy bump that takes a few days to a week to go away.

Any creature that enters your blood supply before and after entering anothers is bound to be transmitting bad things between victims which is the source of mosquito diseases. And this tiny, winged parasite that multiplies with abandon while dining on humans at every opportunity can easily infest dozens of people in no time. Therefore, mosquitoes have earned the title of the world’s deadliest creature as they are responsible for more deaths worldwide that all wars combined. That represents some serious mosquito diseases!

In the US, the disease associated with ‘skeeters’ is West Nile Virus. In a third world country, West Nile Virus would cause far greater deaths. But we cannot overlook the potential dangers as cases of extreme sickness and death caused by West Nile Virus increase every year.

The key to dealing with mosquito diseases is to prevent bites in the first place. Below are some quick ways to prevent exposure to the mosquitoes in your life.

• Empty all standing water sources outside. These blood loving creatures need only a mere tablespoon to reproduce so make sure there is no standing water to offer an opportunity.
• Mosquitoes are attracted to body odors and fragrances as well as the carbon dioxide we emit when we exhale. You can’t stop breathing but you can minimize how delicious you may smell. Bathe regularly because as silly as it seems, the more your feet smell, the more they like you! But be very wary of loading up on scented deodorants, perfumes, lotions, aftershave, etc. as many of these products use synthetic fragrances that mosquitoes adore.
• If you venture outside at peak mosquito times of dawn and dusk, consider wearing long sleeved shirts and pants.
• Use Greenbug for People to create a bubble of protection for yourself.

Greenbug offers safe, green pest control products you can spray on yourself or spray in the yard to create a bubble of protection – it just depends on how big a bubble you want. Using the active ingredient of cedar, Greenbug will kill and repel all mosquitoes so that you can avoid mosquito diseases.

What Are Mites?

If you have experienced unexplained itching or redness of the skin, mites may come up as a possible cause. But what are mites? Do I have mites and if so, how do I get rid of them?

Mites belong to a group of insect-like organisms that are microscopic and invisible to the human eye. We have all heard of dust mites due to the allergies they cause but there are many other species that are parasites. The ones that affect humans are typically Rat Mites or Bird Mites. They are only visible with a high powered microscope and therefore almost impossible to diagnose. They can seriously affect a person’s health as they bite and create reactions in people.

Those that feed on humans come after people when their original host either dies or goes away. Animals that nest on or within your home can introduce these blood suckers such as rats or raccoons living underneath or birds nesting in the eaves of your home. Once the original host leaves, the hungry monsters go in search of a new food source and humans work just fine.

When they bite, victims can feel it but there is no evidence of a bug. Many people then have allergic reactions to the bite so rashes, blotchiness, plus signs of Rosacea etc. are caused by the bites. The worst part is the sensations of itching, crawling and biting and yet you cannot see anything.

Not everyone reacts to the bites and some people are not as desirable to them so a household with mites does not necessarily affect 100% of those living there. But if anyone within the home senses their presence, immediate treatment is recommended.

Many people do not know about this ballooning plague which makes acceptance of mites that much harder. Those in pest control are not legally able to treat for a pest unless they confirm the pest exists. The microscopes necessary to identify these minute creatures are reserved for research labs and select universities and since many in pest control are not aware they even exist, that becomes a dead end.

The next step would be to see a doctor or dermatologist. But they too are unaware of this increasing issue and often say the patient has “Delusional Parasitosis” which is a medical term for ‘you are crazy and making this stuff up’. And conventional pesticides are worthless against them.

But what does work? Greenbug for People applied via a fogger provides excellent results. Greenbug for People is a contact killer of mites – and their eggs – and when applied through a fogger, will penetrate into all the nooks and crannies where these microscopic monsters lurk. And the best part? Greenbug is completely safe, green and environmentally sound so you can treat and retreat as necessary to get rid of this nightmare.

What are mites? They are invisible human parasites capable of creating misery. If you have them, act fast using Greenbug for People.

How To Check For Head Lice

Does your child have head lice? How can you know? Find out how to check for head lice and learn what to do to treat them.

The United States has an up to 12 million infestations of these irritating monsters every year on children aged 3 to 11. They do not hop or fly, they crawl and they are passed between students by head-to-head contact. Great opportunities to spread them are when jackets and back packs are bunched together or when students sit close to each other (like in the same bean bag) during story time. They feed on humans only and can live for 1-2 days on surfaces.

If your child is complaining of an itchy scalp, or a feeling of bumps or bites on the head, it is a good idea to inspect for lice. If you get the dreaded memo from school saying they have been found on a student in your child’s class, it is certainly best to check your child daily until the threat has passed.

Lice are small creatures no more than 1/8 inch long that remain close to the scalp so they can feed. They can be clear/white and run the gamut through a light brown. You will be looking for live lice as well as the ‘nits’ or eggs that are laid along hair shafts. These nits are very small and transparent so they look like tiny flecks of dirt or dandruff attached to the hair shafts. But that is the key to knowing if it is a nit – it will be attached to the hair shaft and be very difficult to remove. The lice avoid light and are more likely to hide deep underneath hair as opposed to being near the face. Get your child underneath a very bright light and it often helps to have a magnifying glass.

Begin by parting the hair and inspect along the scalp. Move across the head in 1/4 inch sections looking for adult lice on the scalp as well as the nits along the hairs. The presence of one adult head lice is defined as an infestation but it is typical to come across several if your child is complaining of symptoms. The presence of nits does not define an infestation as they may not be viable eggs. However, the presence of nits in the first inspection would definitely warrant a treatment.

These parasites affect all groups of people regardless of cleanliness or personal hygiene so there is no shame in having them. As they are not documented to carry disease, they are considered a nuisance rather than a public health issue. Typically school nurses make the diagnosis and depending on the school district policy, students may or may not be sent home.

Historically, over-the-counter shampoos and comb treatments have been the first step to treat. However, these treatments are losing effectiveness due to Pesticide Resistance and are well documented to cause health issues themselves. If these are not successful, families go to the pediatrician for stronger pesticide treatments from topical applications up through oral medications that act like spot drop flea treatments on pets – there is a level of poison in the blood that will kill the lice when they bite. Common sense tells us that is not a reasonable solution.

So what is a safe, viable option for head lice treatment that doesn’t compromise a child’s health? Well Greenbug for People, of course! www.greenbugallnatural.com The answer is a natural, harmless product from Nature herself that effectively kills head lice while causing no problems for the child being treated and no worries for the parent applying the solution. Just apply liberally to head and scalp and cover with a bathing or shower cap for four hours to overnight and then shampoo and style as usual. Greenbug for People will kill the adult head lice as well as destroy the nits – so you don’t have to comb them out!!!

There is no need for toxic chemicals when the natural solution of Greenbug for People is exceptionally effective. Head lice can be treated, repelled, arrested and taken off the list of worries when Greenbug is employed in the fight against them. Get more information by clicking here.

‘I Have Bed Bugs’ Heard In Schools; Now What?

Elementary schools in the United States have recently discovered bed bugs that have hitch hiked from student’s homes. You can imagine no one raised their hand to state, “I have bed bugs.” But the administration has to do something so after finding these horrible pests, the schools decided that all back packs would be banned.

Well, this is just plain ridiculous.

Granted, bed bugs are expert hiders and they squeeze into folds of fabric and into dark corners of back pack, duffle bags and other belongings hoping to avoid any kind of light. Yes, bed bugs can be carried into a classroom on/in a back pack. But they can just as easily be carried in shoes, in pockets of pants, in purses, cell phone cases, inside textbooks, in lunchboxes, and in a gazillion other items that offer perfect hiding places. So should the school now ban clothes? How about banning every kind of personal property including school supplies?

The truth is, you cannot prevent the introduction of bed bugs into a facility as there are entirely too many opportunities for them to enter. So what to do?

Step one would be education. If the faculty, the families and the students all knew what the ‘enemy’ was, how it operates, what to look for and how to deal with it, misinformation would decrease. Education is the ONLY way to create a safe place for someone to actually claim, “I have bed bugs” which allows prevention and treatment to occur.

Step two is to accurately determine the source. Part of the education process is the realization that there is no shame in having bed bugs. They are NOT a socio-economic issue as some of the fanciest places you can visit have bed bugs. Most people have no idea where they picked them up and certainly would never knowingly bring them home.

Step three is to treat the area with the bed bugs with the safest, most effective product available – Greenbug for People applied via a fogger. Greenbug kills adult bed bugs as well as the eggs and killing the eggs is a key component in arresting an infestation as one pregnant female can become thousands in just one month as once she start laying eggs, the eruption has begun. Stop the progress by using safe, effective Greenbug for People.

Step four is to engage everyone in the prevention of further problems. This goes back to the education component as that is the key to successfully addressing these dreadful parasites.

What does NOT work is a knee-jerk reaction that bans back packs as that accomplishes nothing. There are many ways to transmit bugs into school. The faculty, student body and their families must know what they are dealing with to cause effective change.

The truth that “I have bed bugs” can be the beginning of the end with Greenbug for People – a safe and effective solution. And do not think banning back packs will solve anything.

Five Dangers In The Home To Avoid for Green Living

There are items in our everyday lives that can actually be making us sick. If your goal is Green Living, here is a quick list of things to avoid and suggestions for alternatives.

Household Chemicals. So many cleaning, pest control and beauty products are chock full of dangerous chemicals yet easily available over the counter to invade our homes. If these products have multi-syllable chemical names you cannot pronounce, chances are they should be avoided. Instead, clean your home with lemon juice and vinegar; use Greenbug for pest control; and don’t buy into the ridiculous hype of the billion dollar anti-aging industry.

Dryer Sheets. These seemingly innocent items are chock full of every known carcinogen you can think of between the anti-static, anti-cling and crazy fragrance additives. Not only do they release harmful chemicals into the air, but they cause a waxy build up inside the dryer that increases the risk of fires. This is an excellent example of effective marketing because at some point, the public shifted to requiring a fragrance in their clothes.

Non-stick coating on pans. These synthetic coatings infiltrate our food while cooking and then we eat that food. If these ever get burned say a turn-on-the-stove-and-walk-out-to-get-the-phone type situation, the coating can burn off and emit insanely dangerous fumes. There are incidences of people who did this and it killed their pet birds! Opt for ceramic coatings or just use a little more olive oil when you cook.

Candles and Air ‘Fresheners’. This gets back to the crazy need the public has for unnatural scents. One almost comical example is the ‘carpet treatments’ of dust you put out before vacuuming. Why would putting a chemical powder that can penetrate into the carpet be considered a good thing? Is it used to mask the musty smell of dirty carpet? The solution there is clean the carpet right in the first place! Then we have the products that you ‘spray’ on top of bedding, upholstery, etc. to freshen things up. Freshen, or poison? These fragrances are NOT natural but made up of synthetic chemicals with who knows what end result. And plug in fresheners have caused fires.

Plastic for Food Storage. This is the hardest one to avoid due to the convenience of plastic but one you really need to consider. Plastic is absolutely unnatural. It is a crazy, man-made product that does not decompose and actually emits something that mimics estrogen. Whenever you start messing with hormones, everything gets messed up. Why do you think we have such an increase in reproductive cancers? Many baby products are plastic and yet while Junior is munching away on a plastic toy or eating food stored in a plastic dish, his mind is in the most crucial developing stages which can be compromised by plastic. Use old mayonnaise jars, baby food jars, etc. whenever possible.

These are potentially harmful items within the home that you should avoid whenever possible. Staying away from synthetic toxins will do wonders for our long term health.

The Dangers of Synthetic Chemical Pesticides & How to Avoid Them

We live in a world of man-made chemicals including pesticides. While some inventions are beneficial, there is an undercurrent of bad outcomes from being around chemicals that are synthetic and not natural. Greenbug exists to combat that. Find out some main sources of exposure.

In particular, pesticides are prevalent in all aspects of our lives to such an extent that we are completely unaware when we are exposed to them. When you enter any public space – whether it is the grocery store, a school, your office, a theater or a hospital – it has been treated with colorless, odorless synthetic chemical poisons to ensure there is no way a pest will be present. These pesticides are neuro-toxic solutions that are lethal enough to kill a roach 3 months after an application that has dried, been mopped over and walked across. Just think for a minute what level of residual poison that represents. How could that possibly be safe?

And you happen to walk across it, sit in it, inhale the odorless fumes, and your kids have rolled their toys in it and then put their hands in their mouths. Think about it. Any wonder there are increased rates of ADHD, Autism, etc.?

But that isn’t the main source of pesticides that make their way into our bodies. That express route is through food. And the amount of pesticides used in, on and around food is staggering!

Let us use corn as an example. As corn is grown in the fields, it is treated with pesticides, often systemic chemicals that are actually absorbed into the plant to become part of the basic cell structure. Once harvested, corn is treated with chemical preservatives to keep it appearing fresh longer than normal to accommodate the shipping to either a processing plant or directly to a farm to be used as feed. When the corn arrives at the processing plant, it is transformed via chemical and mechanical processes to become packaged food such as corn chips and most often, even more preservative are added in the process. The corn that becomes feed is then fed to cattle or poultry that are unknowingly eating preservative and pesticide-laced food. These chemicals bio-accumulate at each layer of the food chain and now infiltrate the cell structures of the animals eating them.

Being at the top of the food chain, we humans consume the chemical laden corn chips along with pesticide rich meats and these chemicals now infiltrate our bodies on a cellular level to cause health issues and disease. And we have no idea.

But what are our options? The solution is to avoid synthetic chemicals whenever possible. One EASY way is to use Greenbug for your pest control needs. Greenbug uses Cedar – Nature’s own ingredient to kill and repel bugs so it is perfectly safe for humans while being deadly to bugs. As far as food is concerned, buy organic, shop at local Farmer’s Markets and grow your own vegetables just like your ancestors did.

Yes, man-made, synthetic chemicals bombard us from many angles and we are unknowing victims. Armed with education about where they are coming from, we can stand up and no longer be victims of these toxic, synthetic poisons!
