I have been selling Greenbug for over a year now. I have been screaming about a bed bug epidemic, how pesticides do not work, and the reality is that everyone will be affected by bed bugs. I’m sure there are people who roll their eyes and think, “Oh great. Here comes the bed bug doom and gloom!” But guess what? I am speaking the truth!
This is not some Chicken Little squawking about an imagined catastrophe – this is real information, real data, real experiences and a pest that is really hard to control. There are multiple strains of bed bugs that are now resistant to every pesticide available. The automatic response of so many people is pretty much, well, not here! Granted, no one wants to admit, “hey we’re a hotel with bed bugs!” However, sticking collective heads in the sand certainly doesn’t help. I keep saying bed bugs are bad, but feel like so few people have been listening.
Until today.
Early this morning – before 8:00 am as my children were rushing out the door to school, I received an e-mail from a hotel we have called on numerous times. The first visit, the response was the typical, “Oh, no, we don’t have bed bugs and we have no need to discuss them ever again, thank you very much.” Then the facade began to crack and on the next visit, we heard, “We did have an issue some time ago but we called our exterminator and it was taken care of, thank you very much.” Then we changed our tune a bit and just offered information in the event that at some time they may have an interest in taking care of bed bugs. So on the most recent visit, we got a toe in the door as the response changed to, “We don’t have any issues but you can email information and I’ll keep it on file.”
I sent information analyzing costs associated with professional pest control services for bed bugs (plus the expense of lost revenue from not being able to rent rooms) compared to how they could treat in-house for a fraction of the cost, rent the room that very night, and have 100% success. Well, the e-mail came early this morning and Mr. Manager has ordered the works.
Then there is another hotelier we actually met with before Christmas. He had a room that had been out of commission for 2 months due to repeated problems. He re-called in his exterminator who decided to nuke the place. They used a cocktail of chemicals that rendered the room “No Admittance” for two weeks. Not just do not rent the room, but no human admittance for two weeks because the toxic pesticides were so lethal and dangerous. The room had just been given the clearance for rental three days before our meeting and as we prepared to demonstrate how they could treat the room in – house, up the wall climbs a bed bug and it was quite a sizable adult. Even with this proof, he acted like this was an anomaly so repeated calls to him were ignored and I began to feel like a nuisance. Well guess what? He called me at 8:35 this morning and ordered products and supplies for more than one hotel.
Both hoteliers want delivery of Greenbug yesterday. Isn’t that exciting? It certainly is to have people finally listen but the real purpose of this blog is to point out that Bed Bugs are Everywhere and Your Home is Next!
I can’t stress enough how people need to be educated on what to look for and know how bed bugs travel. Then, it is imperative that you be prepared! If, (I should say when), you find a bed bug on your person, your luggage, in your new purchases or wherever, treating immediately with Greenbug is your very best defense against an infestation. Bedbugs will die – immediately – and all eggs will be destroyed. Hotels are great places to get bed bugs but they are hardly the only place and they cannot wait to come to your home. They will get in your home so are you going to be prepared or get caught with no defense?
Greenbug for People is 100% effective, completely safe pest control and simple to use. Every home needs Greenbug on hand just as we all need smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. The truth is Bed Bugs are Everywhere and Your Home is Next!
Believe me!
