According to a report published in the Wall Street Journal, a national survey of Gardeners asked the question, ‘What is the most essential gardening product or tool for Gardeners?’ Their answer was a tie between a shovel, and insect control.
When delving into insect control, opinions were sought comparing natural products and synthetic chemicals. For the first time in modern history, the respondents stated that natural insect control was just as good if not better than synthetic chemicals.
Well tie me to a whipping post and beat me with spaghetti! In the time that I have been selling Greenbug – the spectacular, all natural, unbelievably effective pest control products developed using Nature’s power of cedar – the most common obstacle I hear from would be sellers, users and perpetual victims of pests is “Well, I’m sure its fine but if it is natural, then surely it doesn’t work.”
What?! As though anything can improve upon Nature?
Man made chemical insecticides, also known as synthetic poisons, are all based on nerve gas technology left over from World War II. These were intentionally created to disrupt, mar, compromise, or somehow render useless the neurological function of victims. So here’s a great idea – let’s take these same murderous substances and use them in and around our homes, in our schools, on our bodies, in the air we breathe, etc. so we can get rid of bugs! Yeah – that’s it! We can use these poisons at “low” levels – surely no harm will come of that, right?
So 65 years later after these toxins reached our shores, we have incredibly high rates of Autism, Alzheimer’s, Cancer, Diabetes, Heart Disease, etc. but need I go on? Every one of these diseases is indisputably linked to synthetic pesticide use so there is no way they can even remotely be considered safe.
But back to these brilliant, green minded Gardeners… These people know that natural pest control solutions are not only good – they can be better than whatever is cooked up in a lab. Hopefully, this mindset is indicative of the future and these Gardeners will lead the way to shifting public opinion back to green insect control and away from toxic insecticides.
