What has become of a culture that automatically dismisses natural solutions in favor of synthetic solutions? Why are natural ingredients and products overlooked?
Could it be the marketing machines have tricked us into thinking that if a product is ‘new’, it is automatically better and therefore superior to what was in use before? Do we really think our children have to have yogurt and fruit drinks with rich colors in order to consume them? Are we keeping up with the Joneses yet unknowingly putting toxic chemicals into our bodies?
I’m afraid all of these are true. We have been collectively duped by the marketing geniuses who want to spoon feed the consumer their brand as the solution of choice.
In the world of pest control, the collective mindset is the stronger the chemical, the more frequent the applications, the better. Wow. And why do you think the instances of Autism, Asthma, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, etc. are on the rise?
Our bodies cannot metabolize synthetic chemicals. They are like plastic in the landfill – they never go away. We are harboring and magnifying non-natural substances in our bodies which can only create more disease.
I will note that in the past, many natural products did not work as effectively as needed in the world of pest control. However, all natural products can’t be thrown under the bus because one option isn’t fantastic.
The large chemical companies really want your business and they will dismiss all options not under their control. These mega-corporations supply the pest control industry with their life line of toxic products so exterminators are taught to dismiss anything natural. Then you have the government agencies who disseminate information to the public for their protection and they get all their research information from guess who? The large chemical companies!
As West Nile Virus season is ripening, many Departments of Health and other authorities on public safety are doling out advice to avoid mosquitoes. They all must have gotten the same memo because it says the same thing each time:
- Avoid going outside at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active
- Wear long sleeves
- Eliminate all breeding sites of standing water (with a long list of places to look)
- Use DEET
There you go – use DEET. Never mind that DEET can cause nausea, headaches, nervousness, seizures and death. It is a leading cause of Gulf War Illness. That’s a great idea – let’s put DEET on our young children. Oh and don’t forget that you absorb up to 56% of DEET each time you apply it. Yippee! Let’s get some DEET floating around in our bloodstream.
Be an informed consumer. Give natural a chance because it is a safe solution that doesn’t bio-accumulate and cause health problems. There are plenty of natural options that work in many applications so try those first and break the mold of consumer robot. When something is ‘new and improved’, consider it ‘more synthetic and less healthy’ than what it was before.
So for your pest control needs for fleas, ticks, bed bugs, ants, mosquitoes, use Greenbug products. They are all natural, completely safe and imagine this……. They WORK!
