ALL NATURAL PEST CONTROL PRODUCTS
Greenbug's: Frequently Asked Questions

How does Greenbug work?
Greenbug has essential oil of cedar as the active ingredient. There is a biological reaction to the aroma of cedar by all smell driven pests (which are the bad guys). Being engulfed in the aroma of cedar kills smell driven pests as they shut down their breathing pores and die. If merely exposed to cedar aroma, pests do everything they can to get away. So Greenbug All Natural Pest Control products kill and repel pests.
Is Greenbug safer than what I am using now?
YES! Current pesticides on the market today are primarily left over nerve gas technology from World War II. They are neuro-toxins, poisons and carcinogens that are very dangerous to current users as evidenced in complaints, research and medical documentation of injuries and even death. Another danger posed by current pesticides is they can bio-accumulate up the food chain which has caused horrific effects and pushed some species to extinction. In contrast, Greenbug is completely safe!
The EPA states current pesticide products are safe, but are they?
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) only registers toxins, carcinogens or poisons so any product registered by the EPA is known to be harmful. The EPA tests products to determine “safe” levels of exposure yet all EPA is funded by the companies who make the products they want registered for sale. The testing process is for exposures of a 180 pound male whereas small children and pets are often exposed to far higher levels.
Why is there no EPA registration on Greenbug products?
Greenbug has no EPA registration because Greenbug is safe! The EPA has produced a list of active ingredients for pest control that are exempt from registration because they have been thoroughly tested and proven to cause no harm to humans, animals or the environment. This list of exempt active ingredients is referred to as EPA List 25(B). Cedar is the active ingredient in Greenbug and it is #2 on the EPA List 25(B).
Is it all the same product or different formulations?
There are two different formulations for Greenbug, both of which are 100% organic, all natural and completely safe. Greenbug for People and Greenbug for Pets are a non-dilutable mixture of cedar oil mixed with Silane fluid. Greenbug for Outdoors and Indoors are a dilutable formulation of
Cedar Oil mixed with Ethyl Lactate which is a by-product of corn and a naturally occurring substance in many of the foods we eat.
Are there any instances where I should not use Greenbug?
Using any product requires vigilance and observance of generally safe practices. Greenbug products should NOT be used around exotic birds as their lungs are very sensitive. Greenbug for People or Pets should not be used on plant material, and caution must be used if someone has a cedar allergy.
How was Greenbug developed?
Greenbug was developed under the direction of the United States Department of Defense. The Gulf War Syndrome has been directly linked to chemicals including pesticides, so the Department of Defense went to the manufacturers of the EPA 25(B) products (see explanation above) and challenged them to create a safe, yet effective pest control solution to deal with the sand fleas (sand gnats, no-see-ems) creating misery for the US Troops in the Middle East. Thorough testing by Iowa State University yielded amazing results prompting the statement that Greenbug is “far superior to any of its chemical counterparts”.
How do I use Greenbug All Natural Pest Control Products?
Simply spray as needed where you do not want pests. Greenbug for People is sprayed directly on skin and clothing as needed. Greenbug for Pets is sprayed all over for initial control, then used sparingly as a repellent as pets are exposed to pests.
Greenbug for Indoors and Greenbug for Outdoors are typically used on an ongoing pest maintenance program. Initial control would be spray as needed then a periodic spraying as a repellent keeps any infestation from occurring.
Safe on skin, clothing, furniture, carpet, etc., Greenbug does not stain or leave a residue.
